RM of Rosedale’s story
The Rural Municipality of Rosedale No. 283 sits in the central part of Saskatchewan, along Highway 11 between Saskatoon and Regina. It was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 13, 1909, formed by bringing together two local improvement districts, LID 15-B-3 and LID 15-C-3.
The town of Hanley is surrounded by the RM, and the RM's office is located there. The locality of Jays also lies within its boundaries. A Canadian National Railway line, the Regina Branch, runs through the area and serves Hanley along with other communities between Davidson and Saskatoon. Today the RM is governed by an elected council and an appointed administrator, who meet on the second Tuesday of each month.
